ABOUT

Specialist Clinical Pilates studio in Godalming, offering tailored
one-to-one sessions to support rehabilitation, strength, mobility,
and long-term wellbeing.

Hello, I’m Elena, a UK-based wellness specialist. I specialise in Clinical Pilates, offering bespoke one-to-one and duet sessions from my home studio in Godalming. With 15 years of teaching experience and over 20 years of personal movement practice, I support clients with a wide range of needs, from injury prevention to rehabilitation.

I have experience working with musculoskeletal conditions, supporting people during and after cancer treatment, as well as working with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and ME. I collaborate closely with physiotherapists and osteopaths to ensure a safe, informed, and joined-up approach to movement and recovery.

I’m passionate about creating inclusive, supportive spaces where people feel seen, listened to, and empowered in their bodies, whether in a private session, group setting, or retreat environment. I’d love to connect and explore how I can support your wellbeing journey.

Alongside Pilates, I also teach Yoga and Meditation and facilitate wellness retreats, allowing me to take a holistic approach to wellbeing, supporting strength, balance, mobility, and nervous system health.

Testimonials

It’s only been four months since the beginning of lockdown, but I feel I’ve known Elena for so much longer, having done nearly all her online classes. The classes have been both challenging and varied and with no class the same it has made them all the more enjoyable.

Having sessions planned around work times has been so important and added structure to my day.

I can’t thank you enough Elena.

What Makes Working With Me Different

Choosing to work with me means choosing experience, depth of knowledge, and truly personalised care.

With over 15 years of teaching and more than two decades immersed in movement, I bring an extensive understanding

of biomechanics, anatomy, posture, and the many ways bodies move (and compensate) through life.

My own rehabilitation journey has given me a genuine understanding of injury, recovery, and the emotional side of healing, allowing me to support clients with both empathy and precision.

I’m known for my attention to detail, my ability to observe subtle patterns, and my commitment to tailoring each session

to your unique needs.

No two bodies move the same, and no two sessions should look the same either. Whether you’re managing an injury, building strength, returning to exercise, or simply wanting to feel better in your body, I create a programme that evolves with you.

Working one-to-one with an experienced teacher is very different from attending a group reformer class. In a private session, the focus is entirely on you—your goals, your alignment, your movement patterns, and your pace.

Every exercise is chosen specifically for where you are that day, with hands-on guidance, corrections, and modifications

to ensure you’re moving safely and effectively.

Group reformer classes can be fun and dynamic, but they move quickly and follow a set structure.

There isn’t always time for detailed alignment work, individual correction, or adapting the session for injuries, discomfort,

or specific goals.

Private Pilates offers a level of precision, safety, and progression that simply isn’t possible in most group settings, especially when working with injuries, muscular imbalances, postural concerns, or long-term goals.

My aim is to help you understand your body, move with confidence, and build strength that supports your everyday life. When we work together, you’re not just following a set of exercises; you’re deepening your awareness of how your body moves, improving posture, coordination, and core stability, and exploring the connection between mind and body.

It’s a process of learning, unlearning, and truly transforming the way you move and the way you live your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of Pilates do you offer?

I offer studio-based Pilates using professional equipment such as the Reformer, Tower, Chair, and mat Pilates using small props, like resistance bands, balls and the resistance circles. Sessions are carefully structured to build strength, improve mobility, support posture, and enhance overall movement quality.

Is Pilates suitable if I have an injury or ongoing pain?

Yes. Pilates is particularly effective for supporting people with injuries, persistent pain, or movement limitations. Sessions are tailored to your body and your needs, with exercises adapted to support recovery, build confidence, and improve function safely.

Do I need a referral or diagnosis to start Pilates?

No referral is required, but it would help if you have a chronic condition, or recently had an operation. If you have an injury, medical condition, or are returning to movement after time off, we’ll discuss this with you before your first session and adapt the work accordingly. If you’re working alongside a physiotherapist or healthcare professional, Pilates can complement that support.

Is equipment-based Pilates suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. The equipment provides guidance, support, and resistance, making it ideal for beginners as well as experienced movers. You’ll be guided clearly through each exercise, with plenty of options offered along the way.

What are the benefits of Pilates with equipment?

Equipment-based Pilates helps to:

  • Improve strength and stability

  • Support joint health and mobility

  • Enhance posture and balance

  • Reduce the risk of injury

  • Build body awareness and confidence in movement

It’s a highly effective way to stay active and resilient over time.

Is Pilates only for people recovering from injuries?

Not at all. While Pilates is excellent for rehabilitation and injury management, it’s equally beneficial for those who want to stay fit, strong, and mobile at any stage of life. Many clients use Pilates as a long-term movement practice to support everyday life, sport, and general wellbeing.

Do you offer private and small group sessions?

Yes. I offer private sessions and duets in my studio, and small group classes in other venues. Smaller numbers allow for personalised attention, precise cueing, and a programme that evolves with you. Please check MY WEEKLY SCHEDULE section, to find more.

I’m not very flexible or “fit”, can I still do Pilates?

Yes. Pilates meets you where you are. You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or experienced to begin, those qualities develop through consistent, supported practice.

How often should I do Pilates?

This depends on your goals. Some people attend once a week to maintain mobility and strength, while others come more frequently for rehabilitation, injury prevention, or performance support. I can help you decide what works best for you.

What should I wear or bring to a session?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are recommended for studio sessions. All equipment and props are provided.

Is Pilates suitable as I get older?

Yes — Pilates is an excellent way to support strength, balance, coordination, and bone health as we age. Sessions are adapted to remain safe, effective, and appropriately challenging over time. My oldest client is 87 years old!

How do I get started?

You can book directly by sending me an email elle@wellebeing.net. If you’re unsure where to begin or have specific concerns, feel free to get in touch, and I’ll guide you to the right option.
